There is just under a week left to submit abstracts for StormCon 2012, which will take place next August in Denver. This year’s conference features five tracks: BMP Case Studies, Green Infrastructure, Stormwater Program Management, Water-Quality Monitoring, and Advanced Research Topics. More detail on each track is available on the call for papers page, where you can also submit an abstract online.
The BMP track includes information and detailed case studies on a wide variety of stormwater best management practices, both structural and non-structural, alone and in combination. The Green Infrastructure track includes information on various infiltration and low-impact development (LID) techniques, from lot-level to watershed-wide application. Information on LEED and various urban planning and smart growth presentations is also found here.
The Stormwater Program Management track includes many aspects of meeting NPDES permit requirements, funding options, and information on the latest stormwater regulations and their implications for local programs.
The Water-Quality Monitoring track focuses on water-quality assessment, monitoring and sampling techniques, and modeling practices. The Advanced Research Topics track includes academic research, methods for testing the effectiveness of best management practices and comparing different BMPs, and topics and trends in stormwater research, such as standardizing testing protocols and standards for measuring the effectiveness of BMPs.
