Join top water quality experts at StormCon ’08 in Orlando and
have your questions about water quality answered by some of our top
scientists!
This year,
StormCon will feature an important panel discussion involving field
testing, laboratory testing, and jurisdictional protocols for stormwater best
management practices (BMPs). The discussion will cover both proprietary and
public-domain BMPs and how their performance should be evaluated so that their
effectiveness in improving water quality can be verified.
Current performance standards vary widely, and often the
latest research is not taken into account when writing new rules. All too often,
existing standards are essentially copied from other jurisdictions, with no real
relevance to the geographical area where they are being applied.
A blue-ribbon panel has been assembled to discuss this topic
at an open forum on Wednesday, August 6, from 2:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. This panel
will bring the latest research and the expertise of some of our top researchers
to bear on the important issues facing our industry. The scheduled panelists
are Bill Barfield, Gordon England, Bill Hunt, Masoud
Kayhanian, Gary Minton, Betty Rushton, and John
Sansalone.
To make sure we cover your area of concern, take a moment to
submit your questions today in advance. Send your questions on the topic to
me, John Moll, with the
word “Forum” somewhere in the subject line. The questions will be organized into
topic areas so that the panel can be sure to address the concerns of the
water-quality community. I will serve as moderator for the panel
discussion, and we will also be accepting questions from the floor during the
discussion.
