Santa Barbara, CA, June 3, 2008—Stormwater runoff is the leading cause of
ocean, lake, river, stream, and creek pollution. StormCon, the North American
Surface Water Quality Conference & Exposition is where public officials,
engineers, compliance officers, and construction and industry professionals
gather each year to increase their chances of winning the battle against
stormwater runoff. The seventh annual StormCon, presented by Forester Media

StormCon’08 will feature more than
200 presenters from 34 states and three countries who will address proven
techniques for solving community and construction-site stormwater pollution.
More than 2,000 municipal and government leaders, federal agency
representatives, engineers, contractors, consultants, and industry professionals
are expected to attend StormCon. In addition, StormCon features the largest
trade show of its kind with 200 vendors and service providers exhibiting
stormwater equipment, products, technology, and services.
The conference program offers six program tracks, special EPA events, panel
discussions, full-day pre-conference workshops, and pre-conference certification
courses and exams. Program tracks will feature 147 presentations on BMP Case
Studies, the Construction Site and Stormwater, Low-Impact Development, Research
and Testing of BMPs/Technical Issues, Stormwater Program Management, and
Water-Quality Monitoring.
The opening keynote speaker will be Robert F. Kennedy Jr., environmental
activist and attorney. Mr. Kennedy has a national reputation as a leading
environmental defender as senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense
Council, chief prosecuting attorney for the Hudson Riverkeeper, and chair of the
Waterkeeper Alliance.
